Ways to Make Fitness Fun
There are a number of ways to make fitness fun. The problem most people have with exercise is that it feels so boring and time-consuming. However, you can find something you enjoy that is appropriate for your fitness level and improve your health at the same time. There are so many benefits to finding ways to make fitness fun, not just weight loss! People who exercise have less problems with fatigue, mobility, mental health, cholesterol, and blood pressure as they get older.
One of the ways to make fitness fun is the water. Whether you go to an ocean, a lake, an outdoor neighborhood swimming pool, or a pool at your local health club or gym, you can benefit from a variety of water exercises while still having fun. In addition, water fitness is ideal for people of all physical abilities and weights. You can swim, walk in the water, aqua jog, or even take water aerobics classes. Studies show that aqua fitness comes close to land-based aerobics in burning calories and strengthening the heart. It also helps tone your body, especially the legs.
For many people, dance-based exercise is one of the best ways to make fitness fun. You can do this to your own music, pop in a dance DVD workout, or join a class at your local dance studio, community college, church, gym, or recreation center. There is everything from country-line dancing to Hispanic styles such as salsa and flamenco and plenty in between. Pole dancing and burlesque style workouts are making a comeback for women who are open to tastefully exploring their feminine side while having fun working out. In addition, belly dancing is extremely popular for women and men alike, and every day it seems like new classes and DVD workouts are popping up all over the world.
